Snake River Expedition Begins

Williams Lake to Boya Lake

Williams Lake to Boya Lake - Sunday, July 24 to Tuesday, July 26

We left Sunday morning and drove to Smithers.  We wound up spending an extra day  at my mother's house in Smithers because my niece was arriving that night and we had not met our three year old nephew, Orca, so it was well worth the delay.

On Tuesday we drove west from Smithers, turning north on Highway 37 at Kitwanga.  The road seemed busier than we'd ever experienced before.  It rained on and off the whole drive.  We planned to drive as far as Dease Lake, but it was raining so we kept going till Boya Lake, a wise decision as it we had no rain.  Boya Lake was almost full.

Birds of the day - 6 nighthawks hawking high above the campsite, just before bedtime.
