Early August

We paddled the Horsefly River from Woodjam Bridge down to the town of Horsefly.  We hadn't paddled this section since our first year of  kayaking.  We enjoyed the short whitewater section through "the canyon," but it was mostly a lot of flat water which made for a long day. But it was a glorious day and the rain held off till the ride home.

Leo's cousin visited over the long weekend.  What to do in rainy weather?  We decided to go for cinnamon buns at the Chilcotin Lodge.  Much to our surprise it was pretty busy, mostly with locals looking for a place to take their visitors on a rainy day!  Cinnamon buns highly recommended.  We hoped to drive down to Farwell Canyon, but as we were leaving the lodge a torrential thunderstorm struck!

Sunday the weather was good so we drove out to Likely and had lunch at the Likely Hilton,

and then drove out to Quesnel Forks ghost town for a look around.
