We got up and set out early as we were worried our planned campground at Watson Lake Territorial Park would fill up as early as Liard Hotsprings. But when we got to Watson Lake it was raining hard and we wondered what we'd do there all day in the rain. So we bought groceries and continued on to our next day's destination, Teslin Lake.
Watson Lake Grocery has an excellent on-site bakery; I bought a whole grain loaf for less than $3 and cinnamon buns. In contrast produce was very pricey and Leah put back a bag of candied popcorn because it cost $20!!
We saw two more bison herds today for a trip total of 85 bison. We gassed up at the Conti ental Divide Lodge for a whopping $3 a litre, the most we paid for our entire trip. Down the road we paid $1.95 at the Yukon Lodge in Teslin, plus they provided a tap for free drinking water.
Teslin Lake campground was busy but not full but the double campsites were curiously cramped. We managed to fit into this one:
