A giant sloth

On our second day in Grand Canyon, Leo and Glen took the Grandview Trail down to Horseshoe Mesa.

Leo thought he might steal a piece of malachite (removal of minerals from national parks is illegal) from an old minesite

but then he saw this sign:

and decided to be a law abiding citizen.

But he did get this nice picture of a scrub jay to take home.

The trail was a little rougher than the previous day’s.

Meanwhile Connie and Cathy took the day off from strenuous hikes and walked 6 km of the rim trail sharing vistas like this 

with fellow tourists from around the world.
