Dinosaur Lake, Hudson's Hope

 

The next day we drove through the Pine Pass to Hudson's Hope where we camped at Dinosaur Lake, the reservoir below the WAC Bennett dam on Williston Lake.

The dam  is huge, we drove over it.  

Because of the high water levels they were releasing water over the spillway.  That's the big plume of spray you see in this photo:

We attempted to go for a swim, but Dinosaur Lake is very cold, I didn't get past my knees.

Apparently there was a black bear with 2 Cubs loitering near camp  but we never saw it.

The campsite was nothing special, just sites lined up in a row in a gravel parking lot.  No water, No sanidump.
