Crazy Weather, Glen Canyon Dam and Horseshoe Bend

It rained heavily all night.  We wondered what to do on a stormy day.  So we went to the Visitor Center. The visitor center had many displays about the construction of the Glen Canyon dam and water storage on the Colorado River.  The best part was the large windows with a view right over the dam.  When the rain stopped we walked across the bridge for another view of the dam.

What next?  Since the rain eased we decided to drive out to Horseshoe Bend, famous instagrammable spot on the Colorado River.  Since we were last here they have started charging for parking. There is much grumbling on the Internets about what a ripoff it is.  We wondered whether it would be worth it on a rainy day.

The place was packed. As soon as we started walking it started pouring. And the wind was howling!

Not raining too bad yet. The camera got put away for the worst of it.

We all got totally soaked.

Was it worth it?

Yup.

Selfie time
