Scheduled for today was a 26 km walk on the Confederation rail trail to our next accommodation in St. Peter's Bay. Instead we got a ride with our baggage straight to the Inn.
Our host Rodger immediately offered to drive us back to Morell so we could walk the best 11 km of the day's route.
Dropped off at the Confederation Trailhead in Morell
And it turned out to be the best section of the trail we had walked yet, almost all of it following the shoreline of St. Peter's Bay.
We crossed several scenic bridges
And had great views of the bay. This section was very busy with bicycle tourers.
The Confederation Trail led us straight to our accommodation.
The very attractive Points East Coastal Inn, right on the water.
We had a lovely big room. Our hard working hosts Rodger and Sarah are transplants from Ontario. Soon after they bought the place Covid hit and then Hurricane Fiona landed in 2022. They lost a lot of trees from their yard. But they have totally renovated the property and added 2 vacation apartments. They also provide dinner and a cooked breakfast. And they washed our clothes.
We had dinner with a group of 6 women from North Carolina who were ebiking from tip to tip (North Cape to East Point.
Great sunset from the veranda
Goodnight.
