We rented ebikes from the Motel today and biked our scheduled 21 km. It took us just a couple of hours and we biked right back to North Lake.
We passed by a small nature preserve. I think it was a Ducks Unlimited project. Not many birds around, however. A couple of black ducks, I think.
The Confederation Trail ends at Elmira, once the terminus of PEI's defunct Railway and now the Elmira Railway Museum.
It was closed on Sundays but we got a few photo ops. We sat on the steps and ate lunch and met two couples from Maine who were biking the Confederation Trail..
Elmira's cute little train station.
That night I had a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. Eventually Patti went over to the restaurant to ask about getting to emergency but the nearest hospital didn't have emergency on weekends. They advised to phone the ambulance so two nice ambulance attendants came and looked after me till the bleeding stopped (1-1/2 hours?). They offered to take me to the Charlottetown hospital but I would have to get back on my own. Then the restaurant chef offered to pick me up in Souris (25 km away) the next morning if I took the bus from Charlottetown. I decided to stay put. And was fine once the bleeding finally stopped.
