Tucson Mountain

 


We phoned the campsite in Tucson Mountain Park to see if they had any non-reserved campsites available and they told us 10 sites were opening up Sunday morning but we had to be there by 8:45 am to get on the waiting list.  So we gassed up, dumped and hitched up Saturday night but still we had to get up at 5 in the morning to make the deadline. 

It rained and blew all night and we left in the dark and rain the next morning.  As we approached Tucson we saw this:


Snow on the Tucson Mountains. This is not what we were looking for when we came down here!

 We arrived at the campground at 8:30 am to find ourselves 6th in line.  We had to wait till 10 am for our site to vacate.

Black-tailed Gnatcatcher


Rufous-winged Sparrow
